The company Wellpappe Alzenau GmbH & Co. KG was faced with the challenge of organizing training and instruction for a diverse workforce with different working hours and areas of responsibility. Especially truck drivers, shift workers and night shift teams are difficult to reach because their availability is limited by holidays, illness and irregular working hours The purely presence-based trainings, which are preferred by the Berufsgenossenschaft, turned out to be organisationally complex and often led to a ‘back and forth’ to reach all employees. These problems made it necessary to find a complementary solution, which also included online-based training, which allows to respond flexibly to the needs of the workforce. The search for solutions was driven mainly by the goal of achieving a high rate of participation in compulsory training and instruction.
